1 Kings 8:58 “May He give us the desire to do His will in everything and to obey all the commands, decrees, and regulations that He gave our ancestors.”
Solomon’s prayer is so important and I think we should pray this prayer as we learn and grow to be fully devoted followers of Christ. We can make excuses about everything; such as I don’t like to read, I’m too busy or my kids have to do this or that, but when we fill ourselves with living water we have true peace. It says ask, seek and knock, that’s what Solomon did “May He give us the desire to do His will…” was his prayer, don’t try and do it on your own, surrender to His will.
1 Peter 4:1-2 say’s, “So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude He had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God.”
Be anxious and motivated to learn everyday to be like Christ. Nothing in this world no matter how great you think it is can compare to God’s gift of Christ. What would Jesus do is what we should ask ourselves everyday as we get up and start our day. Don’t do it alone, turn to Jesus for all your strength and live in the light. Amen
