John 14

John 14:30-31 “I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches.  He has no power over me, but I will do what the Father requires of me, so that the world will know that I love the Father.  Come, let’s be going.”

I love the strength of Jesus because He is focused on loving His Father and is totally selfless.  He knows why He was sent and that this world was not His place to live.  It is the same for us, we are to love God and be strong in the Lord so we can be home some day.  We must learn and grow to live like Christ, who never thought of Himself.

I love how Jesus explains to us what we need to do in John 14:15-17 “If you love Me, obey my commandments.  (Show your love by choosing life) and I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate, who will never leave you.  (That is what makes you feel in your heart what is right and true.)  He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.  The world cannot receive Him, because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him.  But you know Him, because He lives with you know and later will be in you.”

They had Jesus alive and could learn and grow through Him, now we who are in Christ have the Holy Spirit and God’s word to keep us focused and sure of our eternal life.

John 15:4 says “Remain in Me, and I will remain in you.  For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in Me.”

What keeps you from reading and learning and asking Christ in every day?  Never think you can do it on your own fill yourself daily so the ruler of this world will have no power over you.  Amen

Sometimes I hear people say they don't want to give their lives to Jesus until later in life because they have to give up all their fun. And, of course, they think they have all kinds of time. I can't think of one thing I did before I gave my life to Jesus that was more fun than living each day trying to be more like Him. Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to me and He gives us the Holy Spirit to lead us in our daily life. WHAT MORE COULD WE ASK FOR?
