“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!”
When we can let go of our need to please ourselves, we can see the joy of our new lives in Him, free from sin because of our repentance. We don’t have to live holding on to the selfish things we lie to ourselves about, we confess them and start to live for Him not ourselves.
Psalms 32:3 NLT
“When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long.”
This is an unsettling feeling when we choose to live for us and not the Lord, when we confess it frees us from our control and make us live with joy.
Psalms 32:5-7 NLT
“Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment. For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory.”
There is a release of self that is needed to be born again and when we start by knowing we are sinners and need a Savior and Lord we can start to feel that peace. All people are created in Gods image, we all have the free will to choose Jesus, when we don’t there is a stirring that's in us and it breeds discontent.
Romans 1:26-28 NLT
“That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.”
When we live for ourselves and what we desire and there is a disconnect that is unsettling. We fight and argue to make it seem right but it’s unnatural and will always keep people confused.
When we see Him as our Lord and Savior we can function in freedom and fullness.
Psalms 32:7-8 NLT
“For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”
We never have to worry, we are protected and will be guided to right living, praising God.
Psalms 32:10-11 NLT
“Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the Lord. So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!”
In this temporary home we can rejoice and feel His love that is the only way to understand true freedom and complete joy in a crazy world. Don’t live by the worlds lie of self promotion but understand the new life that God so freely gives so we can get through everything the devil tries to keep us with.
Thank you Father for sending us your Son and giving us all we need to be successful. Open my heart so I continue to pray and seek all of your strength. Amen
