"For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
That has been one of my favorite verses and an inspiration to me to keep working hard. As I read it today I really saw the verses that led up to it, verses 11-12 which say, “Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.” It is letting us know that His strength is there for us when we are out of a job, or when we are making money, healthy or sick, content or overwhelmed. His strength might not get us out of the situation at that time but it will get us through it, all the way, even if the situation doesn't change for a while.
Jesus is not our quick fix, He is our stability and our savior. Savior in this temporary life as we prepare for eternal life. No matter the situation, no matter how terrible, He is our strength. When we build a relationship and we do what it says in scripture we see the strength. I love what it says in Colossians chapter 2 verses 6-7, “And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him. Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” That growth and thankfulness keeps Philippians 4: 13 fresh in our head as we live powerful lives for Jesus. Philippians chapter 4 verse 13, "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Amen
