I see an image of excitement and joy when I think of eagerly waiting for Him. To me it means I have been asking and seeking wisdom and I’ve been knocking to see the door open for me to experience the qualities of heaven on earth. Look at what Galatians chapter 5 verse 5 says, “But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive by faith the righteousness God has promised to us.” Are we living by the Spirit or are we living in the flesh? The Spirit will lead us to choose right living because that is all He knows and when we surrender our fleshly ways and dive into the truth (which will set us free) we continue to learn to live like Christ.
1 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 7 says, “Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.” We are fully loaded to live righteously and choose life, are we going to cash that free check of Jesus Christ and deposit it in our heart are we eagerly wait to be home with the Father? As we open our hearts and learn we can know confidently the truth that Jesus Christ has shown us. His selfless way to live and that God has given us the strength by putting the Spirit in us to guide us. Hebrews chapter 10 verse 23 says, “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise.”
We know because of Jesus Christ there is salvation for all who accept Him (the free gift) and have faith to believe who He is and that we are new creations set apart to love. Look at Hebrews chapter 10 verses 20-22, “By His death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean and our bodies have been washed with pure water.” We can’t live in our past or worry about what we did, we need only to open our heart to the grace of God and realize we are made clean. Then when we eagerly await His return we focus on learning and living for Him not for ourselves. Amen
