“Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. You must warn each other every day, while it is still “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God.”
This warming from the author of Hebrews should make us think. We are told to be careful, make sure that everyday we are renewing our minds and seeing the amazing things God has for us. This world is not our home and the things in it are only temporary, we can’t predict our time here, we can only embrace it. No one knows their last day or the exact time of their death until it happens so I say let’s make sure that we are reading daily and seeking Him daily. Jesus died and rose for us so we could be home with the Father, so let’s make every effort to know that and be thankful.
Verse 6 says; “But Christ, as the Son, is in charge of God’s entire house. And we are God’s house, if we keep our courage and remain confident in our hope in Christ.” Jesus is the one that will keep us focused and He will continue to show us by the word how to be careful and ready. I love what it says in verse 14, “For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.” We can’t let this world toss us around and make us second guess what we know and believe. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life so let’s be careful, stay ready and celebrate that we know the one who gives eternal life. Amen
