I was reading a devotion to my boys and these verses really hit my heart. I thought it was a great reminder of how faithful God’s love is for us. We are is creation and He loves us so much that He sent His only Son for us even when we struggled so much to love Him above all else.
Verse 25 kept jumping out to me when I was reading, “The Lord is good to those who depend on Him, to those who search for Him.”
Are we searching for Him with all our heart? I love the fact that we have His word every day to turn to and we have the words of Jesus to teach us and the Holy Spirit to guide our hearts. Are we joyfully searching and depending on Him for everything in our lives?
In verse 27 it says, “And it is good for people to submit at an early age to the yoke of His discipline.”
Submit is such a key word because we are called to die to self and live for Him. Die to what we think is right and good and submit to what Jesus has shown us in His journey as a person in love with the Father. God sent His Son to be our guide and our example, but mostly to be the way to Him.
Jesus says in John chapter 14 verse 6, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me.”
We need to search and submit to Him daily and grow in our knowledge and understanding so we can be just like Christ; not focused on self but focused on God. If you ever are questioning what you need to do it is all summed up in Philippians chapter 1 verse 21, which says, “For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.” Live for Christ not for self and submit to what Jesus did and know that God’s way is the only way. So never be satisfied always be searching. Amen
