John 9:41 NLT

“If you were blind, you wouldn’t be guilty,” Jesus replied. “But you remain guilty because you claim you can see.”
None of us has to claim seeing, we have the word of God and the light of this world to show us the way. When we have a question about what is right, we need to 'ask'.  He never try's to make it hard for us, that is the world. The world will continue to entice us with things that don't really matter so we can't stay focused on it or deprive ourselves from reading and studying His word.  We will always be in a battle between the world and the Spirit so we must always be ready. Look what it says in Galatians chapter 5 verses 16-17, “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.”

If they are constantly battling we must constantly put in the good, the word of God. In the book of  John, Jesus said the problem was we think we see, let's not just think, let's know by seeking the light of the world.  We have every opportunity to grow and fight back with truth, so let's do just that, knowing that we are able to follow and be new.  I love this verse from John chapter 8 verse 12, “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” Again don't let our thinking keep us blind, the truth will set us free so let's be free and let's really see.  Amen

John 7:16 NLT

"So Jesus told them, “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me.”
When I was reading today this stood out to me and made me think, we as leaders need to make sure when we share it is connected to God's word. We don't need to be fancy or add to what God has shown us, we just need to teach His word with boldness.

In the next verse we get a taste of what Jesus means as He shares; chapter 7 verse 18,  “Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to honor the one who sent him speaks truth, not lies.” Understanding the why we share God's word is important in keeping us focused. We share so the lost can hear the Good News, and to show love and truth, not condemnation shame. As we pray and prepare to live out His example we must always remember that the message is not our own, it is the Fathers and we are just a tool to water and plant seeds so people can hear and see the message of Jesus that will save their lives.

John 1:12-13 NLT

"But to all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.”
We have to grab this with our heart and understand we are His children bought at a high price.  When we believe this and accept it our new lives can begin and who we thought we were we can let die.  All the sin we were born into does not hold us anymore.  We are know living as a new creation set apart and with power that comes from Christ.  For us to understand this we need to not only believe it but accept it as truth.  When we do we will start to change and that change will lead us to surrender our will and desire His. I love what it says in John chapter 1 verse 5, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” Our acceptance creates a light that cannot be extinguished, we just keep adding to the brightness as God shows us more love.

Amen

Proverbs 1:10 NLT
"My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!”

We need to start living our lives with understanding and wisdom.  There is no opening for us to be caught off guard when it comes to right and wrong.  When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and He will guide us to know what is right and wrong through the word of God.  2 Timothy chapter 3 verse 16 says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”

As we grow we must be in God's word seeking wisdom so we know what is right and wrong for our lives. When we grow and mature in who we are in Christ we can see when the world is trying to sidetrack us to follow it's prompting.  Let's look at Proverbs chapter 1 verse 10 again and understand it, “My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!” We need to love people but our reverent fear of the Lord needs to guide us to choose life when the world is showing us to choose death. As for wisdom, seek it with all your heart, ask God to show you wisdom daily so this world is a place that doesn't affect us but the power of the Holy Spirit in us guides us to affect the world for Christ.  Amen

Luke 12

 Luke 12:51 NLT

"Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other!”

I had to read this a few times today and it just stuck out to me. Jesus came to take our sins and give us a way back to the Father.  Just thinking of that I see how that would not be an easy task; mainly because we are selfish and want things the way we want them.  Jesus knew what He needed to do, in verse 50 He says, “I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished.” Taking all the sins was going to be a cup He did because He loved the Father, but He knew how people were and it wouldn't be easy. He came to bring the truth and that truth will set us free, but we don't always want to hear what is right, especially when we have it set in our minds that it is wrong.

Each of us have to seek God and have a relationship with Him, that is the beginning of our separation against each other. Some desire to learn and some desire not to learn.  When those two groups meet it is like oil and vinegar. When we seek God we will find Him and Jesus came so we can find Him. God doesn't want it to be difficult, see what it says in 2 Peter chapter 3 verse 9; “The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” When we understand that our relationship with Him will help us grow to know Him, we can see how our focus can't be on the things of this world but on Christ. When that happens there will be division among people, even families.

Verses 52-53 go on to say,  “From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or two in favor and three against. ‘Father will be divided against son and son against father; mother against daughter and daughter against mother; and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.’" We must not get caught up in the world but we must understand all about Jesus and we get that from reading The Word of God. As I end this blog I want us all to keep this next verse in mind when we start our days, Luke chapter 12 verse 31. "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and He will give you everything you need.” Amen
