This is what God desires from us, true love, not love that comes along with (if) statements. Whatever happens to us God has already done all He needs to by sending His son. I shared recently in Acts chapter 17 verse 28 which says, “For in Him we live and move and exist…” This was so true with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego of how they focused on God. We don’t celebrate knowing Jesus by checking off boxes we celebrate by surrendering our will and living like He did.
The Spirit has been given to us to help guide us to say, “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us.” Fill in the blank what your blazing furnace is. There is nothing that can happen that can change the fact that Jesus died for us. When we believe it and accept it we can live a life full of peace that comes from God. We don’t have to ask why we are just thankful.
I truly believe what I read in God’s word and I seek understanding so I can live it out and be the church always. But I also believe that God has given me the responsibility to seek His understanding and not my own. The three men never said, Go we have been faithful all this time why did this happen to us? They believed that whatever happened God would take care of it. When we say we believe in Jesus we should also believe that being with Him is even better, so what great joy we should have because we know Him and belong to Him.
I want to end with a King far from God that was transformed and praises God because of who He is. In Daniel chapter 4 verses 34-35 King Nebuchadnezzar says, “After this time had passed, I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up to heaven. My sanity returned, and I praised and worshiped the Most High and honored the one who lives forever. His rule is everlasting, and His Kingdom is eternal. All the people of the earth are nothing compared to Him. He does as He pleases among the angels of heaven and among the people of the earth. No one can stop Him or say to Him, ‘what do you mean by doing these things?” We need to embrace the love God has given and hold on to it with open hands and open hearts and know whatever happens, in Jesus, we live forever. Amen
