When we accept Jesus we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and He will show us more and more as we seek wisdom. The Spirit is our guide and our comforter if we don’t listen we are choosing the world’s way and we struggle. When we open our hearts and ask God we receive revelation and the Spirit prompts us to do what is right. The more we grow the more we understand what the Spirit does in us and the more we decide to follow.
We need to always stay focused and be willing to follow not lead because our ways usually lead us to our desires and the Spirit’s way will always keep us focused on Christ. Verse 14 says, “But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.”
We can’t expect a non–believer to understand what we do until they are ready or are seeking. We need to be ready to share but we can’t be confrontational because they will not understand. Arguing points of view with a non-believer will never end well, but living in love will. When our walk becomes about others we will be that light that Jesus has shown us and we won’t get caught up in any of the bickering. We need to plant seeds and water them so people will hear and see truth but God is the only one who can make it grow. We need to keep learning and growing so we know all of God’s desires and then listen and follow the Spirit before we react to life’s situations. Amen
