It says think clearly and exercise self control, we need to open God’s word so our thinking is clear. When we accept Jesus Christ and really dig in to learn how to live as He did it will be hard work. He lived not for Himself but to do what ever He was lead to do by the Father. We need to always remember that our obedience is so important as we grow in our faith. It is one thing to say we want to be obedient and it is another to show our obedience. When the times get tuff, pray more, asking God how you can use the hard times to glorify Him. Everyday won’t be perfect, but when we endure to the end that is when our true living begins.
I love verse 23, it says, “For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.”
How important is reading God’s word? I can’t imagine not reading since I accepted Jesus in 2005 as my Lord and Savior. It tells us everything we need to know from before Jesus to after and it reminds us of the amazing love God has for us. Truly stop and think if there is anything better or more important than having quality time with the Father and learning to resemble the perfect living sacrifice, Jesus.
In verse 19 is says, “It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless lamb of God.”
Open up God’s word and let it fill your heart. Amen
