How does your life look? Are you still struggling with the same things over and over? We need to let them go and understand that we need to surrender and live for Christ and let the Spirit in us work so we can grow and follow what He says. Look at Paul’s mind set in the beginning of chapter 4. Chapter 4 verses 3-4 say, “As for me, it matters very little how I might be evaluated by you or by any human authority. I don’t even trust my own judgment on this point. My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord Himself who will examine me and decide.” When we understand that how we live and what we do is known by God then we can focus on learning how to live like Christ. This letting go is what makes us grow and not be still drinking spiritual milk, but it makes us crave solid food.
In chapter 3 verses 18-19 Paul says, “Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by the world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God…” When we realize we are not in control of our lives and that God is, and He has given us everything we need to live righteously, then we will focus on Him instead of the world. We have reference after reference in God’s word to show us incredible faith and we have the same ability to forget what we think is right and focus on what God shows us is right.
“For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk…” The Pharisees and Sadducees just talked, and most Christians can be seen in the same way because our lack of action and over use of our mouth. We keep many people away from church because of what we say and how there is a contradiction of what we do. This is why it is so important that we learn and change and then learn and do, so people see it lived out and seek why our lives have changed.
Look at Galatians chapter 5 verses 24-25 which say, “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to His cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.” What a difference that would make in this world. It would take us all truly “living by God’s power.” Amen
