This really touched my heart today and made me look at love and how Jesus did everything because He loved the Father. In verse 34 Jesus says, “Then the king will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.” The sheep on the right opened their hearts to love, they didn’t feel they had to earn anything; they lived like Christ serving people because they understood how to love God and Love people. They didn’t calculate what they did they didn’t even realize they were doing it because when we love someone it is effortless to do what is right. Don’t get me wrong it’s not easy but when we have a relationship with Jesus by opening the word of God and learning we react to life because our heart is full of the Spirit.
Verse 37 says, “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?” They didn’t think of it because they just lived the way they saw Jesus live. It’s not about works, it’s about believing in whom He is and working hard to understand all He showed us so we not only have salvation but live on earth as it is in heaven.
That is the peace Jesus promises in John chapter 14 verse 27, “I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” We can’t get caught up in earning our way we need to get caught up in loving our way. God’s word will teach us everything we need to know, when we open it, it is alive and active. When we put it in our hearts we are alive and active and we are like the sheep on the right and our lives show it by our unconditional love for serving and helping all of God’s creation. I challenge you all to read Matthew chapter 25 verses 31-46 and pray. Amen
