2 Corinthians 5:17-18 states, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to Him.”
We must understand this and realize that when we are Christians there is no acceptance of lifestyle that doesn’t line up with the Word of God. Being a Christian is saying you understand who God is and that He sent His one and only Son to be born, die and raise again for everyone who accepts this.
It’s not to want something and then say I feel I am this way for that, or that God made a mistake in how I was born. Do you see the problem with the thought of the progressive church movement? It goes against everything God has shown us in His Word. Now this is why you can believe in Jesus but not actually be a Christian. The demons believed in Him but had no desire to belong to Him. Paul shares, “…that anyone who belongs to Christ…” He died so we could die to our sin, not so we could push our sin and make people accept us. We accept Him because we needed Him.
We are new people, we let God transform us by not thinking the way of the world. Romans 12:2 say, “…don’t conform to the world…” why would you want a Lord and Savior and then not want to follow Him, He was the perfect spotless lamb of God. God in flesh who shows us how we could live for Him instead of ourselves. This verse says it was a gift from God, He gave us a way back to Him through Jesus Christ. Which means, our way will lead us to hell, whatever we desire that is contrary to His Word will be wrong. Even if we want it to be right.
Then we have a task to do, to share Jesus and His truth to the world. Share His truth to the world! It might be offensive to the world, that doesn’t matter because God gave us the gift and the task to share truth. That truth might feel hurtful to people who want to live for themselves, but God knows better than we do and we benefit when we let go and let God. Surrender and sacrifice will lead us to obedience which will move us to His will which is good and pleasing and perfect. Amen
